Porcelain veneers can be used to make subtle or dramatic changes to your smile. They will give you a new smile that will blend with your natural appearance and feel comfortable. For many patients, dental veneers can also improve long-term dental health when addressing teeth flaws.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are a popular treatment for improving the appearance of the smile. They are a permanent dental restoration that can be used to correct a range of cosmetic concerns.
Porcelain veneers are like a thin ceramic shell that attaches to the front and sides of the tooth covering up cosmetic blemishes and help to protect the tooth from further damage. A dental veneer is permanently bonded to a prepared tooth and can be used to treat one tooth or several teeth.
Porcelain Veneers What to Expect
Porcelain Veneer Process
The dental veneer procedure will usually take two or three visits to our dentist office. The first step is a consultation with Dr. Weinstock at his Bala Cynwyd, PA cosmetic dentistry office. It is important to determine if you are a candidate for porcelain veneers and if they will meet your cosmetic goals. Dr. Weinstock will evaluate your dental health and discuss your concerns before creating a personalized treatment plan for you.
Dental impressions will be taken and your custom porcelain veneers will be color matched and completed in a dental lab.
Then Dr. Weinstock will prepare the teeth to be treated by etching the surface of the tooth to make room for the dental veneer. In most cases, we will place temporary dental veneers on the teeth for comfort and appearance until the final restoration is ready.
Once the porcelain veneers are complete, you will return to our cosmetic dentistry office in Bala Cynwyd, PA for the final placement of your restorations. Dr. Weinstock will try the dental veneers on your teeth to check the fit and color. Once both you and the dentist are satisfied, Dr. Weinstock will use a special bonding cement to secure the porcelain veneers to your teeth.
