Our Caring, Professional Staff
Lil Dorsey: Dental Assistant
I have worked in the dental profession for over twenty years. The majority of that time has been working as an assistant to Dr. Weinstock. Working here has been a wonderful experience for me. I have met some very nice people, who have come in as patients and have left as friends.
I have a post graduate certificate in dental laboratory technology and radiology from the Harcum Junior College.
I am a Philadelphia native and now reside in Delaware County. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I like to relax with a fine mystery novel and crossword puzzles, and I genuinely enjoy cooking and refinishing furniture.
I believe that our patients expect and deserve a clean and pleasant office visit. I take great pride in working here, and I am proud when I hear a patient say, "This is a beautiful office."
Marlo Alletto: Dental Hygienist
I have been with Dr. Weinstock for 13 years. I began working as a Dental Assistant for two years while earning my associates degree in Dental Hygiene at Community College of Philadelphia. During this period I met many patients, which made my transition a lot easier.
I have been a Hygienist for 11 years. I want to enrich people's lives by helping them enhance their smiles, by educating them on proper home care techniques, and working in an office where our patients feel comfortable.
My free time is spent taking care of my wonderful family, my husband Chalie, and my two beautiful children Julian and Natalia. I enjoy reading, music and movies
BARBARA LUBER-BUSINESS MANAGER
I graduated in 1975 from Pensacola College, Pensacola, Florida, with an Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene, and began my career as a dental hygienist that same year in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, while my husband was completing his law school education at the University of Pittsburgh. We then returned to his (and my newly adopted) home town of Philadelphia, where I continued to work for another 15 years as a dental hygienist at a few select suburban practices, gaining valuable experience consistent with the growth and development of the technology in the industry.
In 1995, I decided to “hang up my gloves” and move to the administrative side of private practice, primarily with two offices, where I have served as front desk manager, office manager and benefits coordinator, but never too far from chair side in the event a hygienist was ever needed on very short notice. As a result, I consider myself to be in a unique position to assist all patients with the entire litany of issues that are associated with their dental experience, including coordination of treatment procedures and protocol, insurance and financial plans, and assurance of quality and comfort of each visit.
In 2008, I was fortunate to be asked to join Dr. Weinstock’s practice. I cannot underestimate the value, both to me, personally, and to all of our patients, of the soothing and comforting work environment that Dr. Weinstock has created, the state of the art technology that he continues to employ, and his commitment to continuing education and concern for patient care and uncompromising results. After 35 years in dentistry, I can honestly say that Dr. Weinstock is the primary reason for the continued extension of my career.
Cheryl Flynn: Dental Hygienist
I started my career in dentistry while still in high school. I began as a dental assistant and loved working with patients. My experience has taken me to pediatric dentistry, periodontics, general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry and implants. I enjoy that technology in dentistry is always changing. There are always new things to learn and advancements that are taking place in dentistry. I wanted to do more to help patients and decided to continue my education at Manor College where I earned a degree in dental hygiene. In college, I was awarded the Colgate Student Achievement Recognition Award for compassion in patient care, enthusiasm for community service and dedication to and enjoyment of the profession of Dental Hygiene. I was also awarded The Outstanding Table Clinic Award from Johnson & Johnson for my table clinic on G.E.R.D. I have had the privilege of working with wonderful people who share their experiences and hold the same ideals for continuing education. I look forward to learning more from my patients and giving them the tools to optimize their oral health and improve their overall health.
In my spare time I enjoy reading, gardening and cooking. I have been married for 15 years. I have 3 sons and a boxer dog named Leggs and a cat named Ariell.
Sally Spier: Dental Hygienist
I have enjoyed working as a dental hygienist in private practice for the past 36 years. I am from York, Pennsylvania and one of seven children. I graduated from Temple Hygiene School in 1974.
During the past 8 years I have had the privilege to work with Dr. Weinstock. Everyone in the office is professional and provides individualized care to each and every patient Our office is user friendly and we will make every effort to answer any questions and offer suggestions for the best possible treatment. The entire office works as a team to give each patient a relaxed feeling and to make each visit a positive experience.
Good dental health is the best gift I can give to my patients. I feel confident in educating each and every patient according to their individual dental needs. In my many years of practice, probably the most important skill I have acquired is listening, enabling me to better determine what each patient wants or needs. Commitment to each patient's needs is a quality the entire office shares and gives to on a daily basis.
I currently live in Delaware County with my husband, Reg and our two children - Ryan and Christine. Our newest family member is Cooper, an 18 month old golden retriever. I recently became a spinning instructor - my newest passion. My other hobbies include gardening, yoga, meditation, water color, and traveling. i also acquired my public health license and hope to soon work with senior citizens and educate and equip them with the tools and knowledge to extend their dental health throughout their lifetime. I enjoy giving dental health talks to younger children in preschool and elementary school and at Earlbrook Senior Center in my neighborhood.
Frequently Asked Questions
Natural-Looking Teeth vs. Artificial-Looking Teeth
Q. What are natural-looking restorations, such as crowns, veneers and dentures?
A. A natural-looking restoration is virtually indistinguishable from your real teeth to the untrained eye. A natural-looking tooth will have every characteristic that a real tooth has and not have the distinctive artificial or “denture look” that is so typical of many restorations.
Q. Are all restorations natural-looking?
A. NO. Most dentists are able to do restorations, but only the most skilled are able to do truly natural-looking ones.
Q. How can I make sure mine will be natural-looking?
A. The only way to truly know if a dentist has done natural-looking restorations before is to see it with your own eyes with Before and After Photos. It is very important before getting dental work done that you have the dentist personally show you several photos of previous patients so you know, firsthand, the quality of work you can expect.
Q. How important are Before and After Photos when getting dental work done?
A. Very important. The photos of previous patients are an indisputable indicator of the dentists’ aesthetic skills and the ability to do natural-looking restorations.
Q. What things should I look for in Before and After Photos?
A. First, ensure the photos are very high quality and clear enough to see very small details of the tooth structure. Second, inspect the photos very closely for natural-looking tooth details such as size, color, anatomy, contour, gloss, translucency, proportion to face, etc.
Q. How many Before and After Photos should I review before being convinced that the dentist is capable of creating natural-looking teeth?
A. As many as possible! After all, you want a dentist with proven aesthetic experience and you should always request to view their work before accepting any treatment. Getting aesthetic dental work done before seeing the dentist's work is like paying an artist money to paint a portrait when you have never seen their work before. You would never do it. A true aesthetic dentist is a master at combining art and science to create a beautiful smile! Make sure you see their work before agreeing to get it done.
The Prosthodontist and Aesthetic Dentistry
Q. What is the difference between an “aesthetic” dentist and a “cosmetic” dentist?
A. Some more specialized dentists are using the label “aesthetic” to possibly distinguish them from other “general” dentists. Most specialists are concerned with the long-term function of the teeth as well as the looks or aesthetics of the entire face and how it relates to the smile.
Q. What is a prosthodontist?
A. Prosthodontics is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA). Prosthodontists are dental specialists in the restoration and replacement of teeth. Extensive training and experience provide prosthodontists with a special understanding of the dynamics of a smile, the preservation of a healthy mouth and the creation of tooth replacements. Serving as the "architect" of a dental treatment plan, prosthodontists collaborate with general dentists, specialists and other health professionals to develop solutions to your dental and oral health concerns. Prosthodontists provide an extremely high level of care to patients with missing teeth, or having significant damage to their existing teeth. Prosthodontists work with congenital defects as well as problems arising from trauma and neglect.
—As defined by the American College of Prosthodontists
Q. What additional skills does a prosthodontist have?
A. Prosthodontists are highly trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating many diverse and complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and esthetics. These include: crowns, bridges, complete and removable partial dentures, dental implants, TMJ (jaw joint) problems, traumatic injuries to the mouth's structures and/or teeth, snoring or sleep disorders and oral cancer reconstruction and continuing care.
—As defined by the American College of Prosthodontists
Q. What additional education does a prosthodontist have over a general cosmetic dentist?
A. Prosthodontists must complete dental school, plus three additional years of advanced training and education in an ADA-accredited prosthodontic education program.
—As defined by the American College of Prosthodontists
Q. Can a prosthodontist or “aesthetic” dentist also be my general or family dentist?
A. YES, a prosthodontist is more than qualified to perform ALL procedures that a general or family dentist can…and more. If you are interested in a regular dental maintenance program and need cosmetic work in the future, then a prosthodontist is an excellent choice!
