Our Caring, Professional Staff

Lil Dorsey: Dental Assistant

I have worked in the dental profession for over twenty years. The majority of that time has been working as an assistant to Dr. Weinstock. Working here has been a wonderful experience for me. I have met some very nice people, who have come in as patients and have left as friends.

I have a post graduate certificate in dental laboratory technology and radiology from the Harcum Junior College.

I am a Philadelphia native and now reside in Delaware County. I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren. I like to relax with a fine mystery novel and crossword puzzles, and I genuinely enjoy cooking and refinishing furniture.

I believe that our patients expect and deserve a clean and pleasant office visit. I take great pride in working here, and I am proud when I hear a patient say, “This is a beautiful office.”

Marlo Alletto: Dental Hygienist

I have been working for Dr. Weinstock for eight years. I began working as a dental assistant for two years while earning my associates degree in Dental Hygiene at Community College of Philadelphia. During this period I met many patients, which made my transition to dental hygiene a lot easier. I have been a hygienist for seven years and truly enjoy helping my patients maintain their oral health and feel good about their smiles.

Everyone at Dr. Weinstock’s office works hard to ensure patient satisfaction. We work in a very professional and friendly environment that helps our clients feel comfortable.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my son Julian, who was born in March 2006, and my husband, who I married in November 2004. I also like listening to music, watching movies and shopping.

Lisa Kuhns: Office Manager

I initially had the pleasure of working with Dr. Weinstock from 1996-1998. I have been his dental patient for the past 10 years as well. In November 2006, I rejoined Dr. Weinstock’s team and I’m happy to be back!

I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in the Humanities and have been an administrative professional for almost twenty years. I am a former Montgomery County resident who now resides in Berks County. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I’m also an avid reader and I enjoy all kinds of music.

Dr. Weinstock is a superior clinician as well as a caring, compassionate person. He and our entire staff take great pride in our ability to provide our patients with a warm and relaxed dental experience. We truly believe that one can have a beautiful smile for life and we will do our very best to help our patients achieve that for themselves.

Maryclaire Connors: Dental Assistant

I am a recent graduate of West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I am interested in a career in dentistry and began working as a dental assistant in order to gain firsthand experience in a dental practice. This has been a wonderful place to do that. Although I have only worked in Dr.Weinstock’s office for a short time, it is clear to me that this is a unique practice. What makes this office special is the quality of care that Dr. Weinstock’s patients are provided from the moment that they come through the door. The entire staff goes above and beyond to ensure that each patient is treated with kindness in addition to providing excellent dentistry. We each take a personal role in making the patient’s visit a positive experience. As I continue in the field of dentistry, I know I will be successful if I strive to keep the high standards of dental care that I have been taught by Dr. Weinstock and the rest of the staff.

Michele DiFilippo: Dental Hygienist

My knowledge of the dental field has developed over the last fourteen years. I began working as a dental assistant and quickly discovered that my true passion was to help educate people in oral health. Being the youngest of six children, I followed the footsteps of my two older sisters and enrolled in hygiene school.

I graduated from Harcum College in 1995 with an associate’s degree in Dental Hygiene. I began working full time and decided to further my education to receive a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the Pennsylvania College of Technology in 1999. Following this, I also had the opportunity to be a part of the faculty at Harcum College, serving as a clinical instructor working with the dental hygiene students. I currently work in private practice as well as being a sales representative for Benco Dental.

Over the past few years I have established a wonderful working relationship with Dr. Weinstock and his staff. His friendly office has created a warm and pleasurable environment to work in, while allowing me to give the best possible care to my patients. Educating and seeing great results is the most rewarding gift a patient can give to me. A smile is worth a thousand words.

I currently reside in Haverford Township with my husband, Justin. I enjoy reading, exercising, vacationing and spending time with my nine nieces and nephews.

Sally Spier: Dental Hygienist

I have enjoyed working as a dental hygienist in private practice for the past 31 years. I am from York, Pennsylvania and graduated from Temple University School of Dental Hygiene in 1974. Being one of seven children has prepared me for my career of getting to know people and learning how to listen and communicate with them.

During the past year, I have gotten to know and respect Dr. Weinstock and his staff. They are all friendly and professional. I feel very comfortable giving individualized care to our patients. Our office is user friendly, and we will answer all questions and make suggestions for the best possible treatment. The entire office is able to give each patient a relaxed feeling and make each visit a positive experience.

Good dental health is the best gift I give to my patients. I smile when they are learning and realizing that they can and do make a difference in their own dental health. Listening is a skill I use to find out what my patient might need or want. Commitment is a quality the entire office shares and gives to patients on a daily basis. A healthy, happy smile makes it all worthwhile.

My leisure time is spent with my husband Reg and our children, Ryan and Christine. Our golden retriever Max takes me on a daily walk. My hobbies include gardening, yoga, painting and traveling. I also find time to volunteer at Earlbrook, a senior citizen center in Haverford Township, where I live.

Jackie Gilberg: Dental Hygienist

I graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Hygiene in 1977. I continued my education at Emory University, majoring in business. I used my business background to found and operate a manufacturing company, which built waterbed components. After five years in the waterbed business, I decided that dental hygiene was the career path that would make me happier.

Over the past 29 years, I have worked for periodontists as well as general dentists specializing in esthetic dentistry. I feel that it is important to get to know the whole patient, not just the mouth. I have a way of making people feel very comfortable and because of this, I have become personal friends with many of my patients.

Because I am currently working part-time, I have time to do fundraising for a local charity as well as working out in the gym, cooking and doing plenty of knitting. My husband Bob and I have a combined family of four children (attending college and graduate school) and a terrific mini pinscher dog named Daisy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Natural-Looking Teeth vs. Artificial-Looking Teeth

Q. What are natural-looking restorations such as crowns, veneers and dentures?

A. A natural-looking restoration is virtually indistinguishable from your real teeth to the untrained eye. A natural-looking tooth will have every characteristic that a real tooth has and not have the distinctive artificial or “denture look” that is so typical of many restorations.

Q. Are all restorations natural-looking?

A. NO. Most dentists are able to do restorations, but only the most skilled are able to do truly natural-looking ones.

Q. How can I make sure mine will be natural-looking?

A. The only way to truly know if a dentist has done natural-looking restorations before is to see it with your own eyes with Before and After Photos. It is very important before getting dental work done that you have the dentist personally show you several photos of previous patients so you know, firsthand, the quality of work you can expect.

Q. How important are Before and After Photos when getting dental work done?

A. Very important. The photos of previous patients are an indisputable indicator of the dentists’ aesthetic skills and the ability to do natural-looking restorations.

Q. What things should I look for in Before and After Photos?

A. First, ensure the photos are very high quality and clear enough to see very small details of the tooth structure. Second, inspect the photos very closely for natural-looking tooth details such as size, color, anatomy, contour, gloss, translucency, proportion to face, etc.

Q. How many Before and After Photos should I review before being convinced that the dentist is capable of creating natural-looking teeth?

A. As many as possible! After all, you want a dentist with proven aesthetic experience and you should always request to view their work before accepting any treatment. Getting aesthetic dental work done before seeing the dentist's work is like paying an artist money to paint a portrait when you have never seen their work before. You would never do it. A true aesthetic dentist is a master at combining art and science to create a beautiful smile! Make sure you see their work before agreeing to get it done.

The Prosthodontist and Aesthetic Dentistry

Q. What is the difference between an “aesthetic” dentist and a “cosmetic” dentist?

A. Some more specialized dentists are using the label “aesthetic” to possibly distinguish them from other “general” dentists. Most specialists are concerned with the long-term function of the teeth as well as the looks or aesthetics of the entire face and how it relates to the smile.

Q. What is a prosthodontist?

A. Prosthodontics is one of the nine dental specialties recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA). Prosthodontists are dental specialists in the restoration and replacement of teeth. Extensive training and experience provide prosthodontists with a special understanding of the dynamics of a smile, the preservation of a healthy mouth and the creation of tooth replacements. Serving as the "architect" of a dental treatment plan, prosthodontists collaborate with general dentists, specialists and other health professionals to develop solutions to your dental and oral health concerns. Prosthodontists provide an extremely high level of care to patients with missing teeth, or having significant damage to their existing teeth. Prosthodontists work with congenital defects as well as problems arising from trauma and neglect.

—As defined by the American College of Prosthodontists

Q. What additional skills does a prosthodontist have?

A. Prosthodontists are highly trained in state-of-the-art techniques and procedures for treating many diverse and complex dental conditions and restoring optimum function and esthetics. These include: crowns, bridges, complete and removable partial dentures, dental implants, TMJ (jaw joint) problems, traumatic injuries to the mouth's structures and/or teeth, snoring or sleep disorders and oral cancer reconstruction and continuing care.

—As defined by the American College of Prosthodontists

Q. What additional education does a prosthodontist have over a general cosmetic dentist?

A. Prosthodontists must complete dental school, plus three additional years of advanced training and education in an ADA-accredited prosthodontic education program.

—As defined by the American College of Prosthodontists

Q. Can a prosthodontist or “aesthetic” dentist also be my general or family dentist?

A. YES, a prosthodontist is more than qualified to perform ALL procedures that a general or family dentist can…and more. If you are interested in a regular dental maintenance program and need cosmetic work in the future, then a prosthodontist is an excellent choice!
